Drug Formulary and Drug Interaction Checks OmniMD formulary checks allow prescribers to change medications based on what may or may not be covered by the patient’s insurance plan(s). Users can check to see whether a drug is On-Formulary or Non-Formulary. While e-prescribing, if the drug is not part of the formulary, alternative suggestions for that drug that are a part of the formulary are available to the provider (if any are available).
OmniMD’s medical record system also provides drug-to-drug interaction, drug-to-disease interaction and drug-to-patient allergy checks while prescribing drugs. The system indicates the interaction level as minor, moderate or major.
The drug-to-disease component of the system is meant to analyze a patient’s drug regimen, allergies and any known medical condition or disease (e.g., hypertension). |
